The KWP team & partner

The KWP team is a family. Not always related, but maybe that’s why we get along so well. Each member deserves an introduction:

My husband

FINANCIAL ADVISOR & TEST OBJECT

Actually, he is a consultant. Hence the role of the Minister of Finance. And he is a perfectionist. This doesn’t always make my life easier, but it does make the chalets and the concept store almost perfect and profitable. Roland listens to every one of my wild ideas. He tests products, tastes new foods, and offers up honest feedback. And of course, he does not have it that easy either …

My daughter

THE TIRELESS TEST PERSON

She has agreed to take on the difficult task of tasting the cookies and cakes almost every day the KWP Concept Store is open. It would be unforgivable if they tasted bad …
Also, since we sell ice cream, she would prefer to just live in the shop.

My son

WOULD LOVE TO BE THE BOSS OF THE CASH REGISTER

He likes to help in the concept store, but only at the checkout. Calculating the change is not intended as a mathematics exercise, but only to increase the pocket money: his wage is usually generous and always negotiated before the start of his working hours. In addition, when we occasionally open the outside bar, he is a successful seller of our punches.

Sir Henry

WITHOUT HIM, WE’D HAVE NOTHING

The last approved 9-seater Defender. In British Racing Green. With winch and ladder on the roof. Loved by the whole family and known far beyond the Gastein Valley. Without it many pieces of furniture would not be in the KWP Chalet and very few products in the Concept Store, because it is not only a packing miracle, but also (in comparison to most parcel services) serves us in all weather and road conditions.

Petronella

THE PEARL OF THE KWP CONCEPT STORE

Petronella creates the mood to make it a “living room in the mountains” and will always welcome you with a smile. She is happy about every new product (which I deliver on a regular basis) and is enthusiastic about the stories of each individual item and is happy to share them. After all, they make up the concept of the KWP.

Mr. Kasbacher

THE ONE WHO TALKS TO THE HERBS

The KWP Concept Store offers a large selection of teas, salts, peppers and sugars with herbs, flowers and plants from our garden. The idea of having a specialty salt is one thing, but getting organic, untreated ingredients is another. Mr. Kasbacher mixes and stirs not only special fertilizers (using coffee grounds from the KWP), but also seems to be in deep relation with each plant.

Mr. Spanni

OUR MAN FOR ALL CASES

His real name is Franz Spannberger, but was renamed “Spanni” by Felix (then 5 years), and remains our Spanni to this day. He made a decisive contribution to the beautiful appearance of KWP and worked in night shifts for the completion of the KWP Concept Store. Sometimes he drives us crazy when a sketch has to be made for everything and then again 3 times over. But what comes out in the end is a testament to his perfectionism and preparation.

Gernot Pfingstmann

INTERIOR DECORATOR & HERODES

Interior decorator, king of fabrics and best “Herodes” of the Gasteiner Perchten.
As an interior decorator in the 4th generation, no idea is too difficult for him, no way too far and “doesn’t work” doesn’t exist for him. We have already realized many great projects with him.
However, I much prefer him as Herodes of the Gasteiner Perchten than one of the Krampuses at St. Nikolaus day.

My Daddy

AND HERE I WILL LET YOU IN ON A FAMILY SECRET

My father, a former restaurateur, did not believe in a small business in Bad Gastein. And what should a concept store be called? Without further ado, the KWP was renamed “Hasenstall” by him. Today I love to tell him about the small and big successes of the “Bunny Stable”, which he still lovingly calls it. He is now happy and proud of us. And our guests and us alike are happy about the homemade schnapps (after all, his recipe!), and the always good wine recommendations.

My Mum

ON DUTY EVERYWHERE

She tests products, runs advertisements, and creates newsletter partnerships. She jumps in with the children, squeezed between crates of goods in our Landrover on our trips to Bad Gastein. Upon arrival she’ll help unpack and spend the evening editing newsletters. In her travels she seeks out great new product ideas for the KWP, perhaps now even more than the cultural highlights.

AND FINALLY, MYSELF

I thank my husband for giving me the chance to work in this small concept store. Sometimes I get frustrated juggling it all—the kids, the apartment rentals, the store. And yet, I am back every day with great joy. I love to find products, and to be found by them, and to tell their stories to our customers. I am so happy about the many lovely compliments from our guests. Ultimately, I am grateful for the whole team, without them everything would not be possible.

Ala

PR QUEEN

She is my old boarding school friend, my children’s funny “aunt”, but above all a passionate PR queen. Her STILART PR agency in Munich has been specialized in luxury fashion, jewellery, perfume and cosmetics brands for 16 years. Since 2012 more and more in hotels and travel. Traveling non-stop for her clients, she gave up her apartment in Munich and has today her only permanent refuge in one of the KWP Apartments in Bad Gastein – in her “Monte Carlo of the Alps”.

Thanks also to:

Mr. Bösl – he looks after every plant (no matter how unusual), supports bold planting projects and has the most beautiful native (Christmas) firs.
Mr. Huttegger – our trusted supplier of gourmet products (from 5 cm thick T-bone steak to the best minced meat for our homemade bolognese). And of course, the children always get a sausage as a treat.
